I did my first test knit! A very beautiful shawl by Amanda Reed called Opulence! Once the pattern is established it's a very east knit! I even got to block it! This shawl is first piece that I've ever blocked. Had such a great time making it I plan on making it again!
I've also started making my first garment! I know!!! I couldn't believe it too! ;) Radiate is a one-piece cardi with short sleeves and so far it's fun! I'm on the 3rd increase row and haven't made any progress in at least a week due to work but I love the yarn and the pattern!

The saga of the continued crocheted troubles :(
Ok so the crochet troubles I was having has beaten me this time. I was wanting to make a baby ripple afghan that also has shells in the pattern. Well, I got all flustered early on and couldn't get my brain to back up. Has that ever happened to you?! Anyway, I decided since I only have 4 more months, I'll bypass the baby shells and just go for the ripple. I will have to make this blanket at least once it's beautiful! Heather Tucker is the genious behind the lovely pattern! You got me this time, but I'll be back! ;)

Crochet troubles :(
So I'm trying to make a little shell ripple afghan but I'm having some troubles. Row 4, yup it starts that early in the pattern :/, has me making gaps in the piece. I'm gonna go with it and hope it comes out the right way. Fingers crossed!

The big plan for me to make that nativity I've been wanting for YEARS!
Alright, so I've wanted to make a nativity for a few years (read since 2009). I really like some of the free patterns on Ravelry but I fell for the one by Fiona Gable in her book Knitivity.
There are roughly 14 pieces and here's how I think I want to break them down by month.
January-shepherd #1
February-Joseph-month of St Joseph
March-shepherd #2
April-sheep-a couple standing and a couple laying
May-wiseman #1
June--wiseman #2
July-wiseman #3
August-Mary-month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
September-donkey
October-camel
November-stable
December-Baby Jesus and his manger-month of Divine Infancy.
And speaking of the nativity and crafting it did you guys see the life sized one thats touring?? Here's a link for the story. It only took them a year to make that and it's life sized so I'm really hoping I can make my miniature in a year!

Getting caught up!
I've finally uploaded most of my pictures to flickr, ravelry and facebook-respectively! It's been very exciting and fun looking at pictures that I have taken a while back and trying to figure out what it is or what its made of or who it is.
This is a poem my husband penned for me before we got all official! Can you see the pearls in the crochet border? See the gold craft rings I got from Hobby Lobby? And how about the little piece of tule by the bouquet?! It's my favorite.

Whew, it's been a while hasn't it?!
I'm getting a camera! Hopefully it will user friendly like advertised so I can upload some of my projects.
Lots has been happening in the life of Elaine since my last post forever ago! I've made too many projects to name-didn't even keep up on ravelry with them! My son graduated high school! We went on vacation a couple times. Most recently to Graceland and Dollywood. All 3 of us converted to Catholicism and my son was baptized! But I'm excited to get a camera I can use. Keeping my fingers crossed!
